In this students are required to:

  • Complete at least 24 credit hours of course work with a minimum GPA of 3.25. This does not include the 24 hours required for research/thesis and other credit hours to remove any deficiencies or the 12 credit hours required from other department courses.
  • Complete graduate school research requirement.
  • Complete a Master’s paper based on a research project approved by the major professor.
  • Successfully complete the comprehensive Master’s exam which is planned in conjunction with the major professor. It consists of a balance between your specific course in Curriculum and Instruction combined with courses selected from other departments.

PhD Program

This program helps students to:

  • Become more competent in curriculum development with a better appreciation of the teaching-learning process.
  • Enhance capabilities in the field of Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Broaden knowledge in academic related fields.
  • Apply professional background and training in areas of administration, counseling, educational psychology, supervision and the sociology of education.

The course is pursed under the guidance of a major professor and the dissertation is done under the supervision of a dissertation committee.

Advanced Certification Program

The advanced certification program is target-orientated and tailored for people who want certification in a specific field. It offers advance certification at the post-baccalaureate level in areas such as:

  • Bilingual certification – which focuses on teaching English as a Second Language.
