Online education has been a savior for busy students. One may ask who is a busy student. Busy students are those students with multiple commitments outside of the educational environment. These may include working, social work or those who just do not want to be confined to a classroom regime.
Studies show that due to the shift in the demand, growth of online universities and the rate at which traditional universities are adding online education modules to their curriculum exceeds 50% and climbing. This is in response to another study that showed that 45% of students who attend online universities either work at least 20 hours per week or taking care of a minor.

Some busy online students come from the group of individuals who only require certification in a particular area. Online universities offer many certification programs for busy online students from various industries such as manufacturing, finance, business and medicine.
  • High Acceptance Rate: Now that online degrees are being accredited and accepted by all industry players, busy automatically students choose this option as they can now earn an accredited degree without disrupting their schedule. Online degree programs are designed with the assistance of major industry players who contribute knowledge, experiences and money to these institutions. As a result, all degree programs are designed with their graduate’s effectiveness within the work place.
  • Reduced Cost: Another reason why busy students prefer online education is the cost. On the face value of the degree program, there is not much difference in the tuition fees. However, savings are realized by attending an online course through the non-requirement for travel and relocation. This fits perfectly into the lifestyles of working who cannot afford to stop working to attend school.
  • Networking: Many busy online students come from the group of working professionals. The online education environment allows students to meet and interact with students from all lifestyles. As a result, they are able to network and form new alliances that can benefit them outside of the classroom. Students maintain communication with each other through various networking forums such as chat rooms, email and social networking sites such as Facebook, Gmail, MSN Messenger, twitter and Yahoo.
