Abilene Christian University
Abilene Christian University is affiliated with the Churches of Christ. The university greets all students who value the strong Christian atmosphere as well as outstanding training offered on the campus. Mandatory daily chapel and mandatory Bible courses add to the open recognition of Christian belief as a significant part of the lives of nearly all ACU students. The entire faculty, workers, administrators as well as members of the Board of Trustees are Christians.
Around 4,700 students, together with 800 graduate students, come to Abilene Christian University from 50 states and territories, and 42 countries. It has a diverse and global atmosphere, which improves student knowledge. The students are provided by over 230 permanent faculty members who focus on high-quality training, scholarship and service. Over 97 percent of tenure-track staff has terminal degrees. The student/faculty ratio is 16:1. The faculty and administrators are dynamically involved as leaders as well as presenters in various national professional associations, and ACU is a dynamic member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
Work-study Programs
The Work-Study program is an employment program presented by the government for students who meet the requirements for financial help. Work-Study is not an assurance of employment. It is the student’s duty to look for employment and facilitate the required formalities with the Human Relations Department. Work study is paid directly to the student in the shape of a paycheck. It is not paid to the balance on the student account. Students, who would like to have work study to pay toward their account balance, are required to make payments via the online Wildcat Pay system or through The Depot. Satisfactory educational progress should be maintained by every student for any financial assistance program.
