Online Admission Procedure in 6 Simple Steps

Applications process up at online colleges and online universities nationwide. Applying to online college has become a very simple and straightforward process. The online admission procedures may vary from one school to another, but overall the information remains basically the same. It is best to check each school’s website for their specific online application guidelines. However, for most online institution the application procedure can be summed up in 6 simple steps, let’s take a look.

Step #1. Visit the websites of the online college or online university that you want to apply to. Then select the admissions page and read the school’s application procedure. You may be required to create a user name and password to proceed.
Step #2. Print out the application guidelines from you online school of choice. Go over the application rules and procedures thoroughly before filling out the application. You will find that most colleges and universities will provide either a link to their own application on their websites. Before you fill out any applications online, print out a hard copy of the application and fill it out by hand first then, use the hard copy to fill out your online application.

Step #3. In addition to an online application, colleges usually require an application fee. This is an application processing fee that is non-refundable. The fee varies from one college to the next, but expect to pay anywhere around $20 to $80.
Step #4. Most colleges will require that your school send your transcripts directly to their
admissions office, however if you need to submit your transcript, the college will require an official transcript that is not a photocopy.
Step #5. Most colleges will need a copy of your test scores from the SAT test or ACT test (if applicable) or an essay. Simply write drafts of your essay in a separate computer document then copy and paste the essays into the online application.
As with all your application materials, make sure you allow enough time for your request to be processed and sent.
Step #6. Submit your supplemental materials and application packet along with your online application.

To help speed up the process of your application, make sure that you review the required supplemental application materials for the program that you are applying to, gather those materials together, and then submit all of the materials to the online college of choice. Your completed application will be reviewed for admission consideration. Allow at least 2 to 3 weeks before contacting the school to check on your application status.
