Special Education
Special Education is a system put in place by educators to provide additional services, support, programs and specific environments for students with special needs. Special Education focuses on children who need some help, special coaching and care to meet their educational goals. These children may be mentally retarded, physically handicapped or have emotional or behavioral problems.
Secondary Education
Secondary Education follows primary school and is sometimes referred to as the final stage of compulsory education. Secondary Education normally occurs during the teenage years and is aimed at preparing individuals for higher education or vocational education.

PhD in Education

Masters in Teaching
The Masters in Teaching (MIT) degree program is designed to build on the post baccalaureate degree to advance the academic skills and practical focus required at the Master’s degree level.
Master’s in Education
Pursuing an Education degree at the Master’s level is the second highest level degree conferred by institutions of higher education. Library and Media Technology
A Library and Media Technologist is an individual who embraces cutting edge technology and imparts this knowledge into a school’s curriculum. They also train other staff members and students on how to use these technologies in conjunction with other library systems. This may include how library resources are utilized and how data is organized.
Instructional Technology
An Instructional Technologist applies the results of research in learning theory, psychology and new technologies with the intent of applying it to the development, management and evaluation of learning resources and instructional and performance problems in students.
Higher Education
Institutions that provide post-secondary education include vocational schools, community colleges and universities. A wide range of Higher Educational courses are offered by these institutions with varying content and modes. These research and training courses in Higher Education may take one to five years of full-time study, or more in part-time, to complete.
ESL/Bilingual/TESOL
ESL is an acronym for English as a Second Language. A teacher who is ESL certified works with non-English speaking students to teach them English as their Second Language. This teaching role is not restricted to native English speakers, but having English as your native tongue is a major advantage.
Elementary Education
Elementary Education programs are designed to prepare reflective, knowledgeable and effective school teachers to meet the professional standards required to qualify for licensure.

Educational Leadership
Educational Leadership or School Leadership is leadership in formal educational settings. Educational Leadership focuses on areas like interdisciplinary literature, human development, epistemology and pedagogy. Through these activities, Educational Leadership will focus on the theory or principles of teaching and applied research (pedagogy), content knowledge (epistemology) at all levels to promote student learning and higher performance.

Education Specializations are the various areas of focus that individuals may pursue in the field of education. A wide array of specializations exists and students may choose a field depending on their area of interest. Education Administration involves a deep understanding of educational systems, the ability to manage a large number of people and the ability to oversee and manage the miscellaneous and unrelated tasks of an institution.
