The college application has changed from a simple form consisting of some straight-forward questions to a detailed one demanding variety of documents and an essay for consideration. Every college has its own application form and they ask students to fill out the form properly and submit it before deadline.   • Tip 1 - The students need to find out which colleges are offering common application forms and which need a specific form issued by the college admissions department.
  • Tip 2 - When seeking admission to a college, the student must ask the high school to send out the transcripts and confirm whether the process has been completed smoothly.
  • Tip 3 - Many colleges ask for standardized test scores. Students must find out whether the college requires SAT or ACT scores for consideration. These scores also enable the college authority to judge a student’s capability to carry on the college works.
  • Tip 4 - Letters of recommendation are often required by colleges. Students must check the list of requirements for the recommendation letter and request a teacher, counselor or a senior person to write a letter of recommendation for them.
  • Tip 5 – Drafting personal essays following the policies of the colleges are also an important part of college application. Students have the tendency to submit the same essay to various colleges, but they should remember to put the correct name of the college they are applying for in the document.
  • Tip 6 - Students must find out whether the college conducts any on-campus interview. In this case, students may speak with representatives for in-depth information.
  • Tip 7 - The student must complete all tasks before the deadline and submit the application form on time.
