Though many may argue that distance-learning students are unable to have fun during their course, on the contrary, many end up committing some of the weirdest bloopers that are unique to distance learning. These include:

1. Leaving the webcam on:

Distance education allows us to study from the comfort of our homes. As a result, some of may not be dressed appropriately at all times. For weeks, it was the talk of the class.

2. Logging onto the wrong course video:

Distance education classes are often distributed in video format. One student logged unto the wrong course and for about fifteen minutes was totally lost as what the doctor was talking about. It was only when he rechecked the video title he realized he was on the wrong video.

3. Asking about spring break:

Distance education allows you to study at any time at your convenience. As a result, there are no designated holidays or breaks. This distance education student posted on her page that she could not wait for spring break to the Bahamas. Only to get a response that “this is distance learning, you can go where you want at any time”.

4. Applying to the wrong online college:

In the mad rush to secure college spaces, some of us are not diligent enough to ensure we are applying to the correct distance learning college. This happened to one law student who sent his application to a medical school. When he started getting correspondence from them, he was annoyed. After revising his application, he found that he had applied to the wrong college.

5. Worrying about being late for class:

One student commented on his status message that he is so late for class, only for his friend to respond that he is to remember he is a distance-learning student.

6. Making an entry in the wrong chat-room:

Many of us are guilty of talking to multiple persons from various chat-rooms. One distance education student was in a conversation with her doctor while talking to her boyfriend on Facebook. She then forget to change pages and wrote on the doctor’s page “honey I miss you so much”. The doctor said “what?”

7. Giving out personal information:

We often forget not to issue personal information while online. One distance education student was given a pleasant surprise when a classmate turned up at her door.
